Dr. Kathie Allen Releases Official Statement on John Curtis Facebook Ads

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 29, 2017—Moab, Utah—Dr. Kathie Allen has released the following statement:

“Like many in the Third Congressional District, I was shocked to discover that Mayor John Curtis had sponsored ads of such an insensitive nature. Sadly, his ‘explanation’ posted to Facebook soon after was just as bad. His use of racially charged terms such as “illegals” shows that nothing has changed—at least in the last few days.

“During the primary, his opponents called John Curtis a Democrat. His supporters called him a moderate. Now he’s trying to call himself a conservative. Which one is he? From what I can see, he’s one simple thing: a politician, willing to change positions and abandon values as soon as it’s convenient—in a nutshell, willing to say anything to get elected.

“Politicians like this are why nothing is getting done in Washington. If we want change, we cannot afford to let another run-of-the-mill politician represent our district.

“My campaign’s message has been consistent from day one. I look at the facts to solve problems in a way that works for everyone. I tell the truth, even when it’s hard to hear. Anyone who wants to know where I stand can go to my website and look up my position on every issue. Mayor Curtis has taken down the few positions he had posted on his website. Perhaps now we have an inkling as to why.”
